Discover the new features of proimporter: Release 24.7.0 is now available!

Dear Customers,

we are happy to announce that the latest release of proimporter, version 24.7.0, is now available for download. This update brings a bunch of new features and improvements to help you perform imports in xer and mpp format even more efficiently. As always, protecting your P6 database from corrupted and incorrect data remains our top priority. Here is an overview of the new features.

Note: To ensure the best performance of proimporter and to use the new features, we recommend all customers who are still on proimporter version 24.4.0 or lower to update to version 24.7.0 via proupdater.

What's new in version 24.7.0?

Update of Activity Steps
With this release, Activity Steps can now also be updated using proimporter. In doing so, all existing Activity Steps in P6, including their UDF values, are overwritten with the values from the xer file. If an Activity Step no longer exists in the xer file during a project update, it will be deleted during the import process. This procedure ensures that your data always remains up-to-date and consistent.

Update of Activity Notes
Activity Notes from the xer file are now automatically updated during a project update and are documented in a table within the existing Activity Note. The existing Activity Note remains unchanged, while new entries are added as a new row in the table and provided with a timestamp- a warning above the table ensures that the imported notes may not be edited manually

Update of Project and WBS Notes
As with Activity Notes, when Project and WBS Notes are updated, changes are now recorded in a separate history table within the notes field. Each update is given a date so that you can always keep track of changes and additions.

Extension of the „Find not used Objects“ function

The „Find not used Objects" function, which identifies unused objects and automatically sets them to “Ignore”, has been extended to Resource Calendars. This means that if Resources are identified as not in use and set to “Ignore”, the associated Resource Calendar will also be ignored and not imported. This allows you to keep a better overview of the Resources you are using and only import the Calendars that you need.

If you don’t want to use the “Find not used Objects” function, you can configure this at any time via the proimporter settings.

Further Enhancements

• Revised Ribbon: The new structure ensures intuitive and clearer navigation
• New Close Button: A practical close button makes it easy to close proimporter directly from the tool.
• Customized filters for import files: When selecting import files, both XER and MPP files are now displayed by default in the File Explorer. You can restrict the selection to a specific format if required.
• Alphabetical sorting of database instances: The available database instances are now displayed in alphabetical order, which makes selection easier.

 Bugfixes
In addition, minor bug fixes have been implemented to further improve the stability and performance of proimporter.
